Horizon Education and Media
In Australia I met Harriet, the Galapagos tortoise. She was outside in a large grass enclosure. I was expecting slowness, but she was quick on her feet and her eyes were bright. A few strands of grass stuck out of her mouth. Charles Darwin collected her as a baby in 1835, took her to England on the Beagle, and then a friend moved her to warmer Australia in 1842. She stayed at several zoos. Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter, gave her a home in his zoo where she lived to the ripe old age of 175 years.
We will watch two movies to help you do your booklet project which will extend through two lessons.
