Viruses are non-living capsules of DNA or RNA in a protein coat. They invade cells in order to take over the cell's manufacturing ability in order to create new viruses. In Biotechnology, some viruses can be used to insert "good" DNA into unhealthy cells. This treatment can help patients with genetic diseases such as muscular dystrophy, as the cells then make "good" muscular protein.
